St. Augustine's Old Jail, completed in 1891, housed prisoners for over 60 years. It is one of the surviving 19th century jails and looks much like it did in the late 1800's.

Sheriff Joe Perry and his wife Lou, lived and worked for $2.00 a day at St. Augustine's Old Jail.
